charlottesville creative photography {joyeuse promotional photoshoot!}

it started with a dress. it started with a vision of a dress.

i dreamt up a long, flowing red dress that would ripple in the wind, projecting itself out of the bleak midwinter backdrop.

and then, while birthday/christmas shopping for one of my besties at h&m, i saw it. a silky beacon of dreams come true with a large red tag that screamed β€œ$20!” Β it was the last one, (thereby explaining the $20 clearance price), and it stopped me dead in my tracks hoping, no, praying, that it was a size 4.

it was.

and so, the rest unfolded miraculously. i got the idea to turn it into a promotional shoot for joyeuse. i love being a model, so i was excited to get to be on the other side of the lens.

and the photographer? my crazy creative, songwriting, worship-leading husband. this is his debut. i’m quite impressed and i hope you are too. i did the editing, but all the shots are his.

the balloons in my logo (and therefore in my photo shoot) have nothing to do with the current trendiness of balloons. but everything to do with a night last fall when an activity in my bible study led to a revelation of hope. those three balloons came to me as a promise and a reminder of the hope and joy that i was created to have.

and without further ado, the photos:

in case you were wondering- this shoot was done a few days ago. and yes, it was in the 30s outside. this next photo is evidence of how painfully cold it was.

post photo shoot jacketed bliss:

let me know what you think and give my sweet husband some love! πŸ™‚
