Dreamy Travel Photography // New Orleans through the Diana Camera

I’ve always loved the ethereal quality of photographs taken with a diana camera. Nearly four years ago, I purchased an original on eBay- knowing nothing about film or lomography, or what to even do with a Diana.  It wasn’t until recently, in the wake of change to my career and direction with photography, that I allowed myself to experiment.  And now, I don’t think I could be more pleased with the images that come from my little plastic companion. She’s also taught me the patience of photography, about waiting to capture the image perfectly. With only 16 frames per roll of film, there isn’t much room for error or taking many of the same thing, from different angles.  But I also can’t be too attached to the image because I never know how it will turn out.   But I love the surprise.
And I especially love the dreamlike world that she creates- that could have existed at any moment in the past, or the present or the future.  This is how beautifully she captured the essence of New Orleans…
