julia. {new york city creative headshots}

in a city filled with artists and creatives, i’m asked almost daily if i do headshots. i was pretty uncomfortable with the whole idea because i didn’t feel like i even knew what it meant to take a good headshot. along comes my stunningly beautiful friend julia who offered to show me the ropes by modeling for me. honestly, it was hard to take a bad picture of this girl, but i enjoyed our adventure nonetheless. all that to say, i think i’m down with headshots! what i love most about photographing people is the pictorial representation of their essence.

julia herself is a woman going places in life. a writer, an actress,a producer, and a fashion maven- i really don’t deserve to be her friend. i am glad to be here photographer though. : )

i realize that not everyone would want head shots with the joyeuse photography bohemian/vintage flair. here are a few of the same shots with a bit more of a traditional headshot look. i can’t say i’m really into the harsh contrasts of what is presented out there, so i opted for a bit of a softer, more natural tone.
